  Hi, so I've been travelling the North coast of Colombia for two weeks now and have stayed in a good amount of great hostels so far, one of which certainly is the sol y sombrilla: The very friendly Host (Bill) gives great advice and very useful information about trips regarding the Guajira desert👍 Totally relaxed atmosphere and very comfortable accomodation makes for an excellent stay at the hostel:) I dont usually do reviews but this time I really felt like I had to;) Can really recommend this one guys👍

  Spacious hostel with friendly and funny owner, Bill, who will tell you about this semi- tour you can take to punta gallinas. Very recomendable, because the price is basicly the same as doing it on your own (190000cop) but saves you all the hassle. We were first thinking of only going to cabo de la vela. Don't do that and go on this tour. Stay for more then one night in punta gallinas, it's sooooo worth it!! In this semi tour a night of accomodation is covered in cabo de la vela, plus all the transpots to cabo de la vela,punta gallinas and back. Anyway, ask bill about it. The hostel also has a cheap laundry service and good breakfast.

  Excelente lugar las instalaciones, la ubicación, la. Comida, todo realmente fue excelente ... Me dejo sin palabras la atención del señor Extranjero que nos atendió y nos recibió como en casa. que para mi fue un Colombiano más con un gran corazón y generosidad ... Solo me. Queda mandarle un gran saludo Sr. WILLIAM

  Hostel manager Bill is fun and a wealth of information on the area, and Latin America in general. He's a photographer and has pictures from throughout his 30 years of international work, hanging throughout the hostel. He helped us book our tour to Punta Gallinas, called transportation for us, told us where to eat and shop, and allowed us to BBQ and the play a dart tournament at the hostel. The rooms are large, with nice mattresses. Private rooms have AC. Shared bathroom is clean. Bill makes a great breakfast, particularly his famous eggs.
